You
can see here our monthly website visits to pages, files and hits
over the last year in graph form. During December - traditionally our busiest time - we peaked at just under 10,120 hits.
These
statistics are prepared through a program called Webalizer.
For the technically minded, the Webalizer is a web
server log file analysis program which produces usage statistics in HTML (hyper text mark-up language
- the language of a website) format for viewing with a
browser.
We
also check the overall website statistics through a
specialist website called alexa.com – which
tracks the internet traffic to all commercial websites
and allows us to compare our performance in the grander
scheme of the Internet. It
tells us that our Traffic Rank is 3,628,024 over
the last three months.
This traffic rank figure is based on three months
of traffic
data from millions of internet users and is a combined
measure of page views and users (reach) and this
figure is continually updated with the previous three
months traffic data.
Reach is the percentage of all Internet users who visit the site. So, for
example, yahoo.com has a reach of 28%, this means that if you took random
samples of one million Internet users, you would on average find that 280,000
of them visit yahoo.com. shoreditchlife.com has a reach of 0.05%, that
means an average of 5,000 users per million visit our website.
